So, I haven't blogged in over two months. I'm fairly confident that's the longest I've gone without blogging. I'll admit it, this hiatus of mine has everything to do with the fact that I've been planning a wedding. Planning a wedding is an adventure, you guys. It was busy, but we survived. And to be totally and completely honest, it was perfect. It was honestly everything I could have dreamed of. Everything went perfectly. It was the most magical day and I am so ridiculously happy to be married.
Now, I'm sure you're all wanting to know about the wedding and I promise I'll be blogging about that soon. It's just that when I last left you, I was telling the story of me and Levi. Now I know me, so I know that if I keep telling that story at the rate it's been going, then we're all going to be here until we're 102 years old and ain't nobody got time for that. But! I do want to at least tell our engagement story and maybe a few other little things about when we were dating (mainly for my own journaling purposes. also, apparently journaling isn't a word.) So, I will also be writing those posts soon. But! What I need to do now is catch you up on the months leading up to the wedding. After that, I'll probably post about what is going on now. And after that, I'll probably post about the wedding. And then after that I'll probably post about our engagement story and such. It's the circle of life or something.
Oh, but also. Maybe I'll totally switch that order and write about our engagement tomorrow. You know, to surprise you and stuff.
And now, for a boring old catch up post.
Back in April, Levi and I went to a session of General Conference. It was the Sunday morning session. As some might be aware, if you go to the Sunday Morning session, that means you have to get there extra early for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's "Music and the Spoken Word" performance. I don't know what time that meant that we had to be there...maybe 9 am? Which meant we had to leave around 8 am. But the thing is, we're talking about Levi here and he said we had to be ready to leave by 7:30 am. I whined and I think he eventually gave in to 7:35 am. It's like he knows my track record of barely ever being ready to leave on time or something. In the end, the session was great and it was nice to get a chance to go before we moved to Oklahoma. (Yes, that's right! We're in Oklahoma now! I've had such a hiatus from blogging that maybe you didn't know that!)
This picture is from the day that we picked up Levi's wedding ring from Wilson Diamonds (which, by the way--shout out to them. We loved them and loved that no one was getting paid on commission and trying to convince me to be a ring pop sized diamond. Seriously, I do not do well with salesman. Saying no is not my specialty). We picked up his ring and came home and I gave it to him and also it had a spelling error on the engraving. Bummer. So we we had to take it back a few days later (after our bridals!) and they fixed it free of charge (which, duh. No one charges people for their own mistake, right? Well except for that one time when I SWEAR I order size 8 sandals and I ended up getting size jumbotron and the company still charged me to ship them back and exchange. That was rude.) Anyway, I just really like this picture. I think it's cute. Also I think Levi is hot. Okay, next.
This picture is from when I went home to California for a weekend for a bridal shower thrown by some of my mom's friends. It was so great to see so many wonderful women from my home ward who had seen me grow up and had been such great examples to me for much of my life. Now tell me, isn't that cupcake dress the cutest?! And not a joke, the frosting was amaaaaaaaazing. Again, amaaaaaaaaaaaazing. Now don't forget that.
And then look at all those presents! I seriously CANNOT get over how generous people have been throughout the entire wedding process! So incredibly generous in their gift-giving and also in their time. I can't even begin to count the number of people who offered to help out in Utah and also in California. It was truly a blessing to have so many helpful people! This is definitely something I always want to remember and then give back to other people who get married. BUT SERIOUSLY.
And then lastly for this blog post, I share with you the joy that comes with living in Santa Rosa, California. I seriously couldn't believe this was real. I'm fairly confident that they took out all the handicap spots and put these in instead. Actually probably not because they were randomly placed throughout the entire parking lot. Which doesn't make any sense. I would assume that these spots are supposed to be a reward and would therefore all be placed at the front of the parking lot. But of course that would make too much sense. As my friend pointed out, they should actually be placed at the very back of the parking lot. I mean, if your car is so incredible and fuel efficient, than we can afford to have you drive allllllll the way to the back of the parking lot. All I have to say is gosh dang it, I love the earth, too! And if I could afford to, I would get a fuel efficient car, too because DUH. But no, I cannot afford that. So instead I will continue to ride the most fuel efficient vehicle of them all: my razor scooter. Take that, California!
