join in the fun!

When I was a freshman, my roommates and I were involved in a prank war with some of our guy friends.  This prank war involved filling stairwells with leaves, leaving anchovies in the dishwasher, filling the apartment with newspaper and throwing forks at people (that wasn't actually supposed to happen...).  It was super fun, but something I would probably never do again because it just takes too much effort and I would probably end up with a can of tuna under my bed again.

Now that I'm older and wiser, I've moved on to way cooler forms of being ridiculous.  You see, with the way I do it now, I don't even have to get off the couch to annoy people.  That's right, folks. And I'm about to tell you how it all happened.

It was Wednesday night. Danielle was just about to go to bed, but was first doing her nightly facebook check.  I was sitting right next to her and decided that I should also go on facebook.  While I was there, I thought it might be a nice idea for me to send a little message to Dillon.  I had the message all ready to go, but then Danielle looked over and deemed it inappropriate (WHICH, for the record, it totally wasn't.  It was simply the truth.)  Anyway, it seemed that Danielle didn't want me posting the truth on Dillon's wall, so she started pressing the backspace button.  BUT I KEPT TYPING.  It turns out that this is actually harder than you would think because she can hit backspace almost as fast as I can type.  When that happened, the words starting becoming jibberish and nonsensical.  But for some reason we found it hilarious.

Pretty soon she also found the enter button which meant that after every letter it was simply being posted to his page.  We were also posting on Lacey's page because, well, it was funny.

After this started, things got a little out of hand.  Danielle was still going crazy with that enter/backspace combo deal so that Dillon was getting about a million notifications while simultaneously trying to "like" everything on my wall so that I would get a million notifications every two seconds. Here's what DIllon saw:

In fact, Dillon was getting so many of these notifications on posts that he had to identify them as "not spam".

Soon enough, both Dillon and Lacey had joined in the craziness of "liking" every post that I had written on Dillon's wall due to the incessant backspacing and entering that Danielle was doing.

By the end of the evening, I had more notifications that I had ever, ever, ever had before. It was ridiculous.

So, as you can see, things got out of hand.  But even after all that, I still couldn't seem get my message to Dillon, no matter how hard I tried.

So eventually I just gave  up.  There was no hope that I would ever be able to get the message to him, although rumor has it Danielle told him later anyway.  Geez, all that trouble for nothing.  Also, even though we thought what we were doing was absolutely hilarious, I still ended up looking like a fool.  I mean, seriously.  Those one or two letter comments don't exactly make me look like a genius.

But it was still cool.  Plus, at least I didn't have as many notifications as Dillon.
