bay bay!

Last weekend, we had a baby shower for my main girl Rachy Rach.  Girl is seven months pregnant and I can't even believe it.  Anyway, we had said shower here at my house because, let's be real.  I have a pretty big living room.  Rachel's sister planned all the games and decorations and such and I was simply in charge of food.  Which was good because it turns out even that stressed me out.  Okay, not really, but let me just tell you that if I did not have the help of Allison and Danielle that baby shower would have had saltine crackers only.

Anyway, I was actually really excited to put this together and I think it all turned out rather well.  I even got all kinds of cray and made one of those triangle banner things.  And when I say I made that, I mean it was entirely made by Allison.  I just thought of it.  Man, I'm the worst.

Apparently Rachel is really popular because I'd say there were at least 20 people that came.  It was really fun and we played some fun games (all planned by Tracey).  Of course, I did embarrassing things, but what else is new?  Rachel got some ADORABLE gifts including the CUTEST little sweater from H&M.  Srsly, I am doing all my baby shopping there from now on, NOT A JOKE.

Also, my number one favorite thing about baby showers and bridal showers and all other showers (except the normal style one that I take every day--or every other day???) is the fact that I get to see so many of my beautiful, wonderful, fabulous friends/old roommates.  Gosh dang it, I'm obsessed with those girls. We had five of the six Penrose girls and it was just magical.  I'm so glad that these girls are still such good friends to me.  I mean, really.  I lucked out big time in the roommate department.  It's unreal.

And of course, I suppose this is an appropriate time to mention that Rachel is still my number one favorite girl.  I have a lot of besties (that word is just gross looking and gross sounding, but let's just roll with it), but that Rachel.  Girl just kills me.  Also, did you know she's amazing?  Like seriously.  One million amazing.  SUCH a good person, SUCH a hard worker, SUCH a good student (although seniorits can be a doozie, haha), SUCH a hilarious person, SUCH an awesome example to me, and SUCH everything I every could have asked for in a roommate and best friend.  Oh, and she's going to be SUCH a good mom.  Love you, kid.

And now, the part of the show where I show you a few pictures from the blessed event, courtesy of instagram.

This girl. THE best. (P.S. Twin boots!)

Penrose, baby.  Too good.

Oh, and this picture happened.  So strange, yet so one million hilarious to me.

Though we struggled to get the cake out of the pan, with a little frosting love from Danielle and a mini banner by me, I think this three-layered cake turned out alright after all.

Success!

adventures!

So, I've blogged once in September so far.  That's really great and also really embarrassing.  So, without further ado, another update from my corner of the earth.
 1. The chemistry department is significantly more boring now that Jalyn is gone.  I mean, her replacement is pretty neat, but as strange as this might be, she doesn't know all the inside jokes that me and Jalyn have.  Case in point: it's a lot less funny when I say, "Can I borrow your stapler?" and Jalyn's replacement just says "Yes" instead of "NO. YOU. MAY. NOT! ...because the guys in the first scene already took it."  J.S'in.
2.  I went to a wedding reception right before school started and it was kind of the cutest thing ever. I loved it.  And what was even better was the fact that I knew both the bride and the groom!  Hayley is a fellow sociology major (and used to work with me) and Jonathan is from my home stake and has been my friend since I was like 14!  How cool is that?  Pretty cool.  But not as cool as the fact that the wedding reception also had DONUTS!  I mean, seriously. Talk about my dream wedding reception.
3.  I wish I had a "before" picture, but this is after my desk plant in the chem office got a serious haircut, courtesy of the ever-so-talented Rachael who is quite handy with a pair of scissors.  This guy really needed a haircut though. Its leaves were a couple of feet long (no joke) and getting all over our desk and Sue's desk.  Not cool.
4. At work, we always have themed parties for birthdays.  For Carolina's birthday, I deemed it to be the rainbow fun themed birthday party because we had funfetti cake with rainbow chip frosting and also taffy (courtesy of Jack, who we super miss).  It was fabulous!  Also, bragging moment: I frosted that cake all by myself, thank you very much.  I wish I could say that wasn't actually an amazing accomplishment, but coming from the girl who struggles to peel overly ripe bananas (gag me, no pun intended) and work a microwave, it totes is.
5. My summer project--Life and Family Legacies Codebook (1966--1980--2010)..
6. The post-its that indicated all the errors Dr. C found in my summer project.
7. My COMPLETED summer project after previously mentioned errors were fixed.  I am ONE MILLION proud of myself (and Allie, who has totes been helping me for the last month and without whose help (is that even proper english?) I would still be stuck with a million post-it notes all up in that codebook).  Survey research is neat!
8. Danielle's down comforter ripped many moons ago and feathers have been regularly littering out apartment (especially on laundry day).  She recently found the time to stitch it up.  Master seamstress!
9.  Woo!  Danielle got her car washed and we got to watch!  Alyssa even shared with us that car washes scare her.  Talk about deep, dark secrets.  We must be really good friends.
10. Alyssa is just cute all the time.
11. Lyss's saucy hurr.
12. One day when I went to lunch with Rach, I was not in the mood for healthy things so I got a brownie and an ice cream cone (which, by the way, helped soothe my sore throat...I know, lame excuse).  But don't worry, I didn't waste my time with that celery in the background.
13. Birthday girl at her mexican fiesta bbq.
14. Birthday girl looking hot.
15. Birthday girl trying on her birthday present skirt and then going to put her pants on...backwards.
16. Birthday girl decided to get herself a birthday present.  Wait, no.  Birthday girl went to DI and was casually checking out this chair to see if she could reupholster it or something when suddenly a creepy DI salesmen got all up in her personal bubble and was telling her all about this "pladdish" (not plaidish) chair and how she should buy such a unique piece.  Danielle ended up buying it just so the guy would leave her alone.  This is probably going to be one of my favorite stories to tell for a long time to come.
17. Mom and Jalyn came into town for the weekend and we went to Cafe Rio.  It turns out that if you jab your straw into your cup of ice enough, it all collects up in the straw and then freezes together. Then you can pull the refrozen ice back out and it looks like a magical icicle!  I was pretty intrigued.
18. But then the icicle broke all over my leftovers so I had to clean it up.  My mother was not particularly impressed with my cleanup method.
19. Jalyn: "Mom, get in the picture. We need to look cute." Nailed it.
20. Hmm, turns out I'm still the 5-year-old who tries to stick things into the grocery cart without mom noticing. Surprisingly, the 20 pounds of shredded cheese didn't go unnoticed. Weird.

So, that's the latest and the greatest.  I've got to stop being so exciting.

updayyyeeeete.

translation: update.

but before this update begins, I just thought I'd mention that lately when I type words, I've been adding extra letters for emphasis.  For example: "Where arrrree youuuuu?" or "Perrrrffff."  I feel like it makes it a little more dramatic, but I also think it makes me feel like I'm acting like a middle-schooler.  Which is cool, because I've always wanted to be back in middle school, except that's a lie.

anyway, update.  Or should I say, updaaayyyeeete.

1. Everyone in the department left for the faculty retreat, which meant the office was mine.  It was a party, FOR SURE.  Also, it was extremely quiet.
2.  Our fire extinguisher went missing, which is extremely comforting, especially because...
3. ...I'm pretty sure everything in Utah was on fire this summer.
4. Spankity Spanks announced her pregnancy a couple of weeks ago, so I no longer had to keep that secret.  Srsly though, homegirl over here stuh-ruggles with keeping secrets and I just want to say that I didn't tell ANYONE.  Personal victory, my friends.  Anyway, we took this maternity pic because I'm pretty sure that any day now she'll claim the need to be bedridden and limited to a diet of donuts.

5.  One night Alyssa and I were at someone's house and alone in their kitchen while everyone else was watching a movie.  Don't ask me why, but for some reason we decided to start sniffing all of their spices (stay classy).  Just for the record, many of those spices smell straight up nast-ay, but spanish saffron tops them all.  If you're looking for a way to torture me, just put spanish saffron up to my nose and make me sniff it.  One MILLION gross.
6.  So, pretty much every day at work in the sociology dept is hilarious.  This picture was taken on an especially hilarious day.  By the way, just to set things straight, I have two jobs.  Apparently that has been a bit of confusion for some people around here because I suppose I don't do a particularly good job of differentiating between the two.  So there you have it.  Chemistry and sociology.  That's me.
7.  One time Allison offered to buy pizza for dinner and Danielle and I, though we tried mightily, (read: not at all) couldn't resist the offer.  While we waited for our pizza, I laid on Danielle's lap (stay classy) and Danielle made mom faces.  It was probably my favorite thing.
8. In the sociology lab, there are two rows of computers that face each other in the middle of the room and then other computers that line the walls of the room (did your brain just explode due to confusion?). Sometimes I get banished to the outside computers because the work I do doesn't require that one program that can only be found on the middle computers.  It's rough.

9.  School picture day at work!  Alice is cute. "Hello, Alice." (said in your most nasally voice, of course)
10.  Buddy pics during school picture day! Kelsey: "Sometimes I just look at this pic, and it helps me get through another hour or two or work."  Love that girl.
11 and 12.  One time Danielle packed me lunch.  That girl is neat, but apparently thinks I can eat like she can.  Cray cray.

13. In sociology, sometimes I have to do phone interviews.  Sometimes the phone interviewees like to go on and on talking about I don't even know what.  That's when I get pretty dang good at drawing stars.
14. My sister works with me over in the chem dept as a graduate student secretary (I'm just a regular style department secretary).  Anyway, since Jalyn got her mission call, she's headed home until she goes into the missionary training center.  Because of that she had to train a new girl at work, so she decided to make a little training manual.  I probably should have seen that picture of me coming.  That girl kills me.
15.  One time, Danielle and I found an unidentifiable substance on our carpet.  While we in the process of determining its origin, we felt it would be a good idea to block it off so it wouldn't be stepped on or moved.  To do this, we found a variety of other things dirtying up our carpet (grass, sunflower seeds, feathers, the usual) and made a circle around it.  It was too bad the next day our landlord came over and promptly walked through it.  Oh well.
16.  We got new carpet in the Benson Building!  Since I'm there so much, it was basically like getting new carpet in my house or something--it was so exciting!  But for a day (only one day!  Give those carpeters a raise!), we had no carpet in the building.  It was cray cray.

17.  Because we're sisters and often go shopping at the same time, Jalyn and I have been known to get the same shirt on ocassion.  Ever since Jalyn started working in the chem dept, I have worried about the day we would wear those shirts on the same day.  I mean, seriously!  Talk about a fashion crisis if there ever was one!  Surprisingly, we never did.  Until her third to last day of work. Nicely done.
18.  Brittany: "You guys!  Listen to this! On a scale from one to seven, this guy's relationship with his kid is a one.  Bummer."  She's funny.
19. The day after Jalyn and I were twins, Brittany walked into the sociology lab and was basically wearing the same outfit as me.  Twin day two days in a row?!  Get out of town!
20. One of my very favorite coworkers and sociology friend Janelle had her baby shower this week!  Neat!  She has funny pregnant lady stories and also lets me call her baby Rocky.  839 sparkle points for her.

And that, my friends, is a pretty good updaaayyyyyeeeetee on what has been going on around here.  You are welcome. Also, school starts in two weeks.  Whhhyyyyyyyy?  (see, that's me being dramatic.)

all about my vacay, bay bay.

So, last week, I was on vacay.  It was cray cray.  And by cray cray, I mean totes cool.  And because it was litz so cool, I thought it would be a pretty good idea for me to blog about it.  Also, I haven’t blogged in one MILLION years, so I think now is an appropro time to get back at it.  Also, my use of slang is getting 100% out of control. Totes.

One MILLION early on Saturday morning, Jalyn and I woke up and were driven by our local taxi service (commonly known as my roommate Danielle) to the Salt Lake airport.  I feel this is an appropriate time for me to mention that the Salt Lake airport is my fav airport.  Seriously, San Francisco just stresses me out and Oakland makes me feel weird.  Anyway, we got on our plane, I texted my brother Matthew telling him we were about to take off and promptly fell asleep.  Girl has got talent.  We were flying into the world’s biggest airport (jk) in Long Beach, CA (close to where Matthew lives) and arrived there 30 minutes early.  So, we had to wait a little while for Matthew to come and get us, but it was cool.  When he picked us up, he told me he was very glad I had texted him when we got on the plane because he (along with EVERY SINGLE PERSON in my family) thought that our plane was landing at noon instead of 8:30 am.  What the cray cray? I was glad he was able to come and get us on time, but it leaves me wondering—why the heck did everyone think we were landing at noon and why the dang heck DIDN’T we get to land at noon?!  Def one of life’s great questions.

So at this point you’re like, oh good, she just spent approximately four years telling us about GETTING to this vacay…this is probably going to be a novel.  And that might still be true, but I just want to tell you right now that I’m going to seriously cut back on the pointless details and focus on the important things like what we ate for dinner and stuff.  Seriously, Scout’s honor.

So we landed in Long Beach, got back to Matthew and Mykel’s apartment and soon the rest of my family arrived (they had driven down from Northern California). Sad news, my baby brother is now taller than me. What the heck?!

My little brothers brought two scooters (one BAJILLION sparkle points for each of them) and we spent the rest of the afternoon playing and swimming and eating delicious food (srsly, I think the majority of this vacay was spent eating food, NOT a joke).  At the pool, the boys and Lena had competitions like who could hop across the pool the fastest.  Srsly killed me, it was so funny.

On Sunday, we went to church and since Mykel was recently called as the primary president (i.e. she works with the small children), Mom, Jalyn, and I went and hung out with the young ones.  Oh my gosh, little kids are one MILLION hilarious.  It was Father’s Day and they were supposed to draw a picture of them with their dad and this little four-year-old girl was like, “Draw a picture of you and your dad pushing a grandma!!”  It was probably the funniest thing I heard all day.  She was definitely a character.

Matthew and Mykel have church right next to the LA temple, so after church we went and hung out there for a bit and Mykel’s friends snapped a few pics of the fam.  It was magical.  The high qual pics can be found in the previous post, but there were also a bunch of pics taken as we prepared for the high quals.  That doesn’t make any sense, does it?

Sunday evening was spent eating (duh), playing games, and reminding my dad why he’s so cool (my number one reason being the fact that he dances to Carly Rae Jeppson and One Direction).  Seriously, such a cool guy though.  So cool that we bought him a grill!

Disclaimer: Jake did not build that sandcastle.

Monday morning we went to the beach and it was surprisingly chilly (so basically it was like a Northern California beach).  Of course, that didn’t stop the majority of my family from boogie boarding.  It took my dad a little while to get the hang of it and when he finally got it he stood and did some fist pumping…at which point the boogie board smacked him in the face.  I swear I did not laugh or find it amusing at all.

After the beach we headed to the Angel’s game!!  So cool!  We even tailgated!  My first time!  We used the grill that my father had conveniently received the day before (seriously, how convenient! haha).  After the tailgating action, we headed into the stadium and watched the Angel’s play the Giants.  Being from NorCal, I obviously had to root for the Giants and it turns out about half the stadium was also rooting for the Giants.  I didn’t plan on that, but it worked out nicely.  It’s always a little easier to cheer for a team when you’re not the only one in a stadium of 35,000 people.  Weird, right?

Tuesday was Magic Mountain day!  The boys were so excited and it was really fun.  I’ve learned that my stomach can’t handle doing so many roller coasters, but I did my best and fortunately didn’t throw up on anyone.  It wasn’t unbearably hot like the last time I went to Magic mountain so that was another bonus.  One thing I’ve learned about myself is that I can’t differentiate between the roller coasters.  Someone would be like, “Did you like the Goliath roller coaster?” And I’d be like, “Which one was that?”  Then they’d explain it as the one that had the big drop or the loop-de-loop, and I’d be confused because I’m pretty sure they all had those things.  I don’t know.  I do remember the one where when the ride finished and you’re waiting to get off, you just sit there hanging so your back is facing the sky and the rest of you is facing down and so you have to try and hold your head up and I’m sure more people have thrown up on that part of the ride than anywhere else or on any other ride.  For reals though.  It was ridiculous.

Wednesday was the day of river rafting!  If you know my family, you know this is kind of a given with family reunions.  We had to wake up supes early and drive to the Kern River.  In NorCal we usually raft on the American River which is always crowded.  The Kern River is the exact opposite.  We seriously saw three other boats the entire day.  Kind of weird.

(Yes, in the picture above, I have a string connecting my sunglasses to my life jacket.  Stay classy.)

My dad had run the river one time, but the rest of us had never done it before.  It definitely rocked us around a bit.  We ended up stuck on a couple of rocks (I seriously thought the boat was going to rip on one of them) and under a couple of trees (super enjoyed that branch that scraped all the way along my back) and I definitely whacked myself in the face with my own paddle (definitely one of my best moments), but it was still so awesome.  Srsly, guys.  Rafting is one of the coolest things.  You should come with me sometime.  And when I say with me, I mean with my dad or one of my uncles or even my 83-year-old grandpa who STILL goes rafting.  What the cray cray?!  Not a joke.  That guy is seriously Superman.

After the river trip all I wanted was In-n-Out and my father was happy to oblige.  Just what I needed.

Thursday morning was the day that the reunion ended.  I made French toast for the first time (not a joke) and I think it was edible, so that was neat.  Then we had to pack up and the parents and the four younger kids headed up to Santa Rosa.  Highlight of the drive home?  Getting pulled over.  The guy comes up to the window and is like, “I’m pulling you over because you have a passenger not wearing a seatbelt.”  You have to understand that my family has had a big 12 passenger van for many years (yes, we’re LDS) and we mostly just use it for long road trips like this because there are three passenger benches.  I get one, Jalyn gets one, and the boys share the longer one in the back.  Jalyn and I always sit in the middle seat on the bench because there isn’t a shoulder strap.  Then we loosen the seatbelt and lie down on the bench and sleep most of the time.  It’s really the greatest thing ever.

Anyway, this highway patrolman accuses Jalyn that she’s not wearing her seatbelt because he “drove up alongside and looked at her for five seconds and she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.”  She started to explain to him that she had just been leaning over on her elbow and reading a book.  She demonstrated for him and it was very clear that she had just been sitting in the middle, but homeboy refused to believe her.  It was ridiculous.  Seriously, she would have had to be a midget when he was drove up alongside the van because she was actually lying down.  I just thought the whole situation was hilarious and I could not believe that he wouldn’t believe her.  My parents were telling him that they would never let us sit in the car without wearing a seatbelt, but he was adamant.  It was ridiculous.  After a good five minutes, he finally was like, “Fine, I’ll take your word for it this time, but you weren’t wearing your seatbelt.”  Such the ridiculous.

Anyway, the rest of the drive was rather enjoyable and Dad even treated us to Del Taco where Tom downed six tacos and Jake consumed five.  It was wild.

All in all, a most fabulous reunion.  I love that family of mine.

my sno cone hiatus is OVER.

Seriously, isn't that the most beautiful thing?!

Okay, so I don't actually know if hiatus is an appropriate word for the situation, but the moral of the story is that I had not been to Hokulia in 2.5 weeks and I was dying.  When I woke up this morning, I told myself I had to get a sno cone and there was nothing that was going to stop me (except maybe if no one was willing to go with me...I just have this feeling that getting a sno cone alone would be moderately lame).  Anyway, I persuaded my sister to go with me and we even scootered over (she knew that was kind of part of the deal).  She hadn't been to Hokulia (which I do not understand), but it was okay because I showed her the ropes and helped her to understand how amazing that place truly is.

It was busy, so I had a little time to pick out some new flavors.  I knew I wanted to try guava, but I also wanted to try a couple of other summery flavors.  I picked red raspberry and then I was left to pick one more.  Now normally I don't really like that many peach-flavored things, but I decided it was worth the risk. And you know what?  It was probably the most delightful and amazing risk I have ever taken.  Seriously. The combination of those three flavors was probably the most perfect thing EVER.  I'm going back tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the exact same flavors, it was THAT good.  I don't care was Ed says, this sno cone was TOTES worth the money I spent on it.

Also, a funny little story.  After I had ordered and was waiting for my sno cone, I got a text from my friend Landon, and the conversation went like this:

Landon: I just yelled your name as I drove past Hokulia.
Stacy: What? I didn't hear you at all! How did you know it was me in this huge crowd?
Landon: I looked for the scooter.
Stacy: Oh, ha. Of course. I should have guessed.

Excellent use of clues, Landon.  Well done.

Anyway, I've said it before and I'll say it again: If anyone ever wants to go get a sno cone and you don't want to go alone, you just let this girl know and I'll be there.  You won't have to ask twice.

Thanks again for coming, Jelly Bean!

as of late.

1. Danielle was packing and I was wondering...did she just pack everything in her closet or had it been a while since she hung up her clothes??

2.  I was telling Rach about how sometimes when people say "Stay seated" I think that they're talking to me. She told me she has the same problem when people say "Racial".  So I told her she needn't worry because we don't "Rachel"ly discriminate around here.

3.  Homegirl is super neat and took me to get groceries last week because if she didn't I was going to have to ride my razor scooter to the grocery store (I mean, she didn't really need to...I could have scootered over and then carried all of those groceries back--5 bags to an arm at least--it would have been super easy style.  Anyway, after we got the groceries and she used her Smith's card on my purchase so she could get her gas points or something, we went to the gas station.  Apparently she's not very good at picking lucky pumps (didn't you know there are luck pumps?) and she ended up picking up the one that wouldn'y let her put in more than 7 cents of gas at a time.  It kept stopping and she would have to try again.  I could  barely convince her to get seven gallons.  "But my forearm is hurting!"  Love that girl.

4.  Ah...is this why the power went out?

5. Me and my homegirls Rach and Keech headed up to Bountiful for Kenn's baby shower last week.  We ended up picking Keech in Draper since she had just come back from St. Louis earlier that afternoon.  The plan was that we would drive up to Draper in Rach's car and then we would take Keech's parents' car the rest of the way.  Why is it that we needed to switch cars, you ask?  Was it a) Rachel's car shouldn't really travel that far all at once, b) she only had enough patience to put in seven gallons of gas, c) one of her headlights was out, d) not only was one of her headlights out, but she had also been pulled over the night before for having a headlight out and she didn't really want to get pulled over again, or e) all of the above.  That would be all of the above (although we prolls could have made it on that much gas, right?).  So we drove to Keisha's while it was still light and didn't need the headlights and then Keish drove the rest of the way.

Also, favorite thing about Keisha driving?  You see, Keisha is used to driving her and Landon's car, which is a stick.  The car her parents own, on the other hand, is not a stick...and sometimes Keish forgets that and accidentally slams on the brakes.  Seriously the funniest thing.  She only did it twice though and only when she was just starting.  I promise she's a good driver, but it was seriously hilarious.

Another thing about that whole drive (wait, are you bored of this story yet?)  When we got back to Keisha's after the shower, we were talking to her dad and asking him if he could look at Rach's car to see if he could fix the light or something.  I told him that one time Danielle's light had been out so we went to the fix-it place (I'm sure it has a better name than that...) and the guy just twisted the light or some wires or something and the light went back on and she didn't need to replace her light!  How neat is that?!  So I was telling Papa Lake about this and being as vague as possible in describing how it was fixed and then I suggested he should just try that--twisting lights and wires and fixing in like magic!  He nodded and smiled at me, but we all know he was thinking, "Awesome. Who let the crazy lady into my house again?"

But, it turns out he's a pretty neat guy, so he went out and looked at it and twisted things and who would have thought?  The light went back on!  Now, it wasn't a permanent fix, but it lasted long enough to get us home, thank you very much.  I'm not as crazy as you all thought I was after all.

6. Back to Kenn's baby shower (I keep typing 'bridal shower'--I guess we're starting to get past that stage now--yikes!).  Seriously so fun and I love that girl to death.  I'm so excited for her little boy to come in a few months!  It was so fun to catch up with her--I love talking with that girl.  She is seriously sooo funny and sooo sweet and sooo adorable.  Also, I like how because of the angle you can't even tell she's preggo in this pic.  But she's seriously the cutest pregnant lady and I love it.  Oh, and also.  Ricky had her baby last week and I'm just dying to meet little Hali Ray.  Such the adorable small child!

7.  I'd say going to this place is better than getting a sno cone.

8.  I got to hang out with a bunch of my cousins and some of my aunts and uncles and my grandma yesterday and it was so fun.  My family is so cool and it is so fun to hang out with them.  Everyone reminded us of how my family was made up of the pickiest eaters in the world and we made sure to take pictures and post them on instagram so the cousins who weren't there would get super jealous (except then Nic posted a picture of him at the beach and told me he was just fine being away, but we all know he wanted to be there.  Then Robbie (and now I feel like a loser because I don't know if Robbie is spelled like that or with a "y" at the end...wow, I'm a lame cousin.)  Anyway, he said he wished he could be there, but he was at a music festival, so I'm not so sure he was that upset...haha)

Also, my cousin's son is seriously the cutest kid.  Mo was telling us all about how much he loves Michael Jordan and how he was wearing Michael Jordan's North Carolina Jersey because "Don't you know? That's his college."  He told us how much he loves Space Jam and he would run around acting like Michael Jordan in the movie and he kept giving us pep talks like Michael did in the movie and he suggested that we come over to his house after dinner and watch Space Jam while he read us his Michael Jordan book.  "And maybe after that, we can watch 'His Airness'!".  He was even demonstrating how MJ dunks and how a very important part of the dunk is that you have your tongue out. "That's how he always does it."  Mo even told me how he's going to be Michael Jordan for Halloween and "maybe I'll paint my skin black." (Apparently someone at dad's work suggested that...haha)  Like I said, cutest kid.  Can't wait to hang out with him again.

So, this turned out to be a much longer post than I expected but dang it, I'm having a good time around here, aight?  In other news, Seven Peaks opens up this week so I think I'm going to put that Pass of all Passes that cost me $5.50 to good use.  Also, I'm getting a sno cone on Tuesday (and maybe even one tomorrow!) and there's nothing you can do to stop me.  It's been two and a half weeks since Hokulia has had any business from me and I can tell they're hurting because of it.

That's all.
